Introduction. A scholarly society is an association that brings together experts in a specific disciplinary field who conduct, publish, and discuss original research. Scientific knowledge is constructed and expressed through language-specific concepts. Following other scholarly societies (e.g., the International Society for Occupational Science (ISOS), Sociedad Chilena de Ciencia de la Ocupación), the Société Francophone de Recherche sur les Occupations (SFRO) was established in 2019 as an international and interdisciplinary Society in the French language. Objective: The concept of occupation, central to occupational therapy and occupational science, originated in English, culturally embedding its scholarship. It needs to be culturally discussed and critiqued. Approach: By holding multiple webinars, the SFRO, has been proposing wide discussions around occupation-related concepts or scholarships. Alternate webinars of experts’ viewpoints in French, with community-wide discussion were held every 3 months for 2 years. Results. SFRO has since partnered with Occupations Humaines et Santé (OHS), the leading Francophone organization dedicated to advancing and disseminating knowledge on an occupational perspective of health in French, by co-hosting their webinar series. Preliminary results indicate that SFRO members are keen to refine the definition of occupation within French-language contexts. Additionally, the webinars foster a sense of belonging to a scholarly community that spans continents and encompasses diverse cultural and professional perspectives, enriching the global dialogue on occupational research.. Contribution: Maintaining an ongoing webinar series supports the dissemination of knowledge on occupations in French. The discussion will address achievements, partnerships, future projects, outcomes, and funding challenges. The next step will be to organize and co-host an international seminar.
