Introduction/Rationale: Social Occupational Therapy seeks to understand and intervene in social demands, articulating its actions to guarantee rights for vulnerable populations affected by social exclusion. This exclusion may result from stigmas related to social markers of difference, such as class, race/ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability, etc., which permeate individuals' daily lives, leading to restrictions on social participation and citizenship.
Objectives: To foster spaces for welcoming, strengthening, participation, and emancipation of individuals, groups, collectives, and populations impacted by social markers of difference.
Methods/Approach: The university extension project "Metuia Cerrado Workshops: Educational Spaces of Resistance and Anti-Oppression" at the University of Brasília (UnB) implemented Activity, Dynamics, and Project Workshops as a Social Technology resource of Social Occupational Therapy.
Results/Practice Implications: The actions carried out between January and August 2023 aimed to promote radical inclusion. Initially, posters addressing this theme were created and placed in the university hallways. Subsequently, two workshops were held during this period: one in partnership with a social institution for people with cognitive disabilities affected by ableism, and another focused on vogue, a dance of resistance and empowerment for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Conclusion/Contribution to the occupational therapy profession: These actions were well received by the target audience and encouraged reflections on the empowerment of these individuals, highlighting the importance of creating spaces for representation, inclusion, and active listening.
